The Twins FX are proud winners of another award this month. Having recently announced their recognition as part of the creative team who helped Qdos Entertainment achieve their Olivier award, The Twins FX were nominated for 2018’s Best Special Effect at The Great British Panto Awards in London. The GBPA are providing recognition for Pantomime as BAFTAs do for film and Oliviers do for Theatre. The award winning special effect made by the The Twins FX was the big red Flying London Bus that ‘wowed’ family audiences of young and old, during the Dick Whittington productions at the London palladium during pantomime season 2017/2018. They won this award last year for the spectacular ‘Upside Down Carpet’ which was the amazing special effect at the Cinderella performances at London palladium and are pleased to have repeated the success this year. Paul, Creative Director describes the magical creations by The Twins FX team in Wareham… “We have pioneered flying in recent years with the bespoke system “Flying without wires”; the audience sees a person or an object move around the stage and then the auditorium with no visible means of support”: “We are a one stop shop and we do everything ourselves: designing, creating/building and delivering the wow factor”. Our slogan is, “we make the impossible…….. possible.” Gary and Paul are thrilled to be part of the winning team. “Coming into work is never boring or a chore because we genuinely love what we do,” says Managing Director Gary. They have a core team of 6 staff but at their busiest, there are as many as 30 model makers, painters and engineers working away in their workshops, like a crack team of seasonal elves.
